Why your PDF stays on your device
PDFs are where the sensitive documents live: contracts, payslips, bank statements, medical letters, a scan of a passport for a form. Uploading one to a free website to turn it into images means handing all of that to an operator you know nothing about, with no way to confirm it was deleted.
QuietFiles renders the pages inside this browser tab with pdf.js — the same engine Firefox uses to display PDFs. The document is read into memory on your device, drawn to a canvas, encoded as JPG, and handed back to you. It is never transmitted.
Questions
How many images do I get?
One JPG per page by default. A 10-page PDF becomes 10 images, numbered in page order. You can also enter a range like 1-3, 7 to export only the pages you need.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Each page is rendered to an image entirely in your browser. A PDF that might hold a contract, an ID or a bank statement is never sent anywhere, never stored, and never seen by us.
What resolution should I choose?
High (192 DPI) is right for almost everything — sharp on screen and reasonable in size. Use Print (288 DPI) only if the images are going to paper, since files get large fast.
Can I convert a large or scanned PDF?
Yes, though very large scans take longer and use more memory. Pages are processed one at a time and released as they finish, and you can cancel part-way through without losing the pages already done.
Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
Not currently. A PDF that requires a password to open cannot be rendered, and you will see a clear message rather than a silent failure.
